Urban Creation joins Bristol Property Inclusion Charter
Urban Creation is the latest employer to become a signatory for the new Bristol Property Inclusion Charter.
Designed as a vehicle to help promote and drive diversity and inclusion within the Bristol property industry, this charter is the first city- wide inclusion charter in the UK.
Founded by Karl Brown, commercial property team partner at Clarke Wilmott, Karl is also a social mobility ambassador for the Law of Society of England and Wales and was the first ever black president of Bristol business group, the Bristol Junior Chamber.
Each of the employers signed up to the charter have seven objectives that they aim to achieve, with the first aiming to have a workforce (at all levels and in all parts of the business or organisation located in Bristol) which is reflective of 21st Century Bristol.
Speaking about the decision to join this charter, Jonathan Brecknell director of Urban Creation said:
“At Urban Creation we want to work towards creating a diverse workplace for all. This charter will help us strive towards the seven objectives laid out and commit to becoming a truly diverse Bristol employer”.
The charter is supported by Bristol Community Land Trust and is sponsored by national law firm Clarke Willmott LLP. The work of the charter will be supported by a new body, the Bristol Property Inclusion Commission and the Commission will be chaired by Karl Brown.
Urban Creation is a well known Bristol- based property developers. It’s 6 student properties cover the Clifton and Park Street area of Bristol offering private, high- quality student accommodation in the heart of the city. One of their most famous developments saw pre fabricated modular pods craned into a dilapidated nightclub on Park Street, thought to be a UK first in modular construction.
It’s serviced apartments, Beech House and Alison Court, are also based in Clifton offering high end private apartments for short stays. Fully equipped and self contained, these properties have been redeveloped to a high standard.
